House Mouse (Mus musculus) The mouse rarely moves far and nests are often made within foodstuff itself.  Cereals are preferred and small quantities are taken from numerous sources.		Brown Rat (Rattus norvegicus) A world-wide pest of industrial, commercial and domestic premises.  Omnivorous, but with a preference for cereals.  Usually lives in burrows in soil but may remain indoors.		House Fly (Musca domestica) The adult fly is 6 mm long and makes short flights followed by settling and exploration.  Breeds in decaying waste: development may be as short as 8 days

Common Cockroach (Blatta orientalis) A major pest of buildings.  The adult is 20 – 24 mm long and takes 6 – 12 months to develop from the egg. (All stages of life cycle shown above).		Feral Pigeon (Columba livia) Common pest in towns and cities where they can scavenge on whatever food is available.  Their droppings deface buildings and foul pavements.		Bed Bug (Cimex lectularius) Recently this troublesome pest has had a resurgence, both in terms of numbers and insecticide tolerance.  Usually hide in cracks or mattresses during the day and emerge at night to feed on host.
